While this is the CFS model and not a tool I would ever recommend for day to day weather forecasting, its real value comes from identifying large scale pattern trends 10 to 14 days in advance. It provides useful insight into temperature and precipitation anomalies above or below normal during the weeks 3 to 4 timeframe and beyond, which is especially valuable for long range planning in the energy, agriculture, and water management sectors.
